Israel attacks Iran

I find the headline amazing in and of itself - let alone the article and all the myriad of implications.

I  am not sure we know when we read headlines about Predators hitting targets in remote Pakistan how transformative to the art of warfare these vehicles that can loiter for 24+ hours unseen then provide lethal force are - but this headline really brings it home in a new way.

The Speech.

The Blog.

Daniel Hannan is  British MP - at least I think is in the House of Commons and I think the House of Commoners are called MPs. Anyway - he is an elected representative in Britain who has some great things to say.

I am going to link his blog to the sideline. If anyone finds the blog of an elected American congressman i’ll link it too -

Throwbacks

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Everyone who cares about this who reads this probably already knows, but I am looking forward to and probably a little astonished by the fact the Broncos are planning to wear replicas of their old mustard and brown jerseys this year.  Pretty much all I know about them is they are widely regarded as one of the ugliest uniforms ever and the originals were burned.

I definitely remember the game against the raiders - probably because they played so badly -  many years ago when they wore the old uniform with the knocked out horse on the helmet. I thought they looked rather silly. I think one of the reasons the Broncos rarely do throw-backs is that they don’t have very many good ones - just the uniforms with the D on the helmet.

Some Culture

I was amazed at the number of Sondheim’s works I had either seen or heard about. And his stand alone hit “Send in the Clowns” is an excellent, if very sad, song.

Check out the videos - both are good. Note what must be one of the original uses of the term “Band of Brothers” in the Shakespeare video.
